Resize PNG logos, icons, screenshots and transparent graphics to exact pixel dimensions without losing transparency. Output stays PNG, so edges and text remain crisp and the alpha channel is untouched.
What is Resize PNG?
Use this tool to resize PNG images to exact pixel dimensions or a percentage while keeping them as PNG. Logos, icons, screenshots, stickers and transparent graphics come out at the new size with their transparent areas intact, ready for a website, an app store listing or a design file.
PNG is the format people pick when edges and text must stay crisp, so a resizer that quietly converts to JPG ruins the point. This one keeps the alpha channel and the lossless format, and works on single files or whole batches.
How to resize PNG
- Drop PNG files (batch is fine).
- Enter the width in pixels (height follows the aspect ratio) or choose a percentage.
- Download the resized PNGs or a ZIP.
How Resize PNG works
A PNG stores every pixel exactly, plus an optional fourth value per pixel called alpha, which records how transparent it is. Resizing builds a new pixel grid and calculates each colour and alpha value from the pixels around it. Soft, anti-aliased edges around a logo are blended correctly, so there is no white halo when you place the result on a dark background.
Because PNG is lossless, saving the resized file adds no compression artefacts. The flip side is size: a PNG photo is usually several times larger than a JPG of the same dimensions. For logos and screenshots that is a fair trade, and you can shrink the file further with Compress PNG afterwards.
The tool also accepts WEBP, GIF and SVG. SVG is drawn at the size you request, so icons stay sharp even when you enlarge them. Everything runs locally in your browser.
Key features of Resize PNG
Free, with transparency kept
Resize transparent PNGs at no cost, with no watermark and no limit on the number of files in a batch. The output is a clean PNG you can use commercially, and batches download together as a ZIP.
Exact sizes like 512×512
Enter both width and height to hit icon and asset sizes exactly, such as 512×512 or 1024×500. Choose Fit inside to keep the whole graphic within a square, or Fill to cover it completely by cropping the centre.
Instant on your device
Nothing is sent to a server, so small icons resize almost instantly and large screenshots take a second or two. A batch of app assets runs one after another without any server queue.
Responsive on any screen
Works in current Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox on desktop, tablet and phone. You can resize PNG screenshots right on an iPhone or Android device, with no app to install.
Usable without a mouse
All settings are labelled form controls you can reach with Tab and change with the keyboard. Screen readers announce progress as files finish, and the page supports dark mode, browser zoom and small screens without time limits.
Graphics stay on your device
Unreleased logos, client artwork and app screenshots stay on your computer. Processing happens in the browser tab, nothing is sent to a server, and you can check the network tab to see for yourself.
What makes EZ Compress's Resize PNG different
Alpha channel preserved exactly
Some resizers flatten transparency onto white or black without asking. Here the output is always PNG, so transparent backgrounds and soft edges survive the resize untouched, which matters for logos that sit on coloured headers or dark mode pages.
SVG and GIF accepted as input
Drop an SVG logo and it is rendered at the size you ask for, then saved as PNG. That is a quick way to produce raster icons in several sizes from one vector file.
Lossless output, every time
There is no quality slider because PNG never discards detail. Pixel-art, UI text and line drawings keep crisp edges, with no JPEG-style blocks or colour smudging around them. Use Compress PNG afterwards if you need a smaller file.
Why use Resize PNG?
App stores, browser extensions, website themes and marketplaces all ask for graphics at specific sizes, and most of them want PNG. A png resizer gets you there without opening a design program, and lets you resize transparent PNG files without losing the see-through background that makes them useful.
It is also the simplest way to shrink oversized screenshots before adding them to documentation or a support ticket. Bring a 2880-pixel retina capture down to 1440 and it becomes easier to read inline, quicker to load and far smaller to attach.
Who can use Resize PNG?
App developers
Produce launcher icons, store graphics and in-app assets at the exact pixel sizes each platform lists, with transparency fully intact for every file.
Graphic designers
Export a client logo at several sizes from one master PNG or SVG for web headers, favicons and social profiles, without reopening the design file.
Technical writers
Shrink retina screenshots to a consistent width for help articles and manuals, so text in the interface stays crisp and every page looks uniform.
Streamers
Resize transparent overlays, emotes and badges to the dimensions a streaming platform requests, keeping the clean cut-out edges around each graphic.
Shopify and Etsy sellers
Resize transparent product cut-outs to a fixed square so they sit neatly on any background colour your shop theme uses, on every page.
