Scans come out of order, one page is upside down, and there is a blank page in the middle. Drop the PDF to see every page as a thumbnail, then move, rotate, duplicate or delete pages and download the fixed document. Pages are copied exactly, so text stays sharp and selectable, and nothing leaves your browser.

What is Organize PDF?

Our organize pdf tool shows every page of a PDF as a thumbnail so you can put pages in the right order, turn sideways pages upright, duplicate a page or delete the ones you do not need. When you save, you get a new PDF with exactly the pages you arranged.

It fixes the small problems that make a document look careless: a scanner that fed the pages backwards, a landscape table printed on its side, a blank sheet in the middle of a contract, or a cover page that should come first. You see what you are changing, page by page, before anything is saved.

How to use the Organize PDF

  1. Drop a PDF.
  2. Use the arrows to move pages, ↻ to rotate and ✕ to delete.
  3. Click Save PDF.

How Organize PDF works

Inside a PDF, pages hang from a structure called the page tree, and each page points to its own content, fonts and images. Reordering, duplicating or deleting pages means building a new page tree; the content itself does not need to change. Rotation is lighter still: every page carries a rotation value, and viewers turn the page by that many degrees when they display it.

This tool draws thumbnails with an open-source PDF renderer so you can see the pages, but the saved file is built differently. It uses pdf-lib to copy each page you kept, in your chosen order, into a fresh document, and adds your rotation to the page's existing rotation value. Nothing is rasterised.

Because pages are copied rather than redrawn, text stays selectable and searchable, vector drawings stay sharp at any zoom, and images keep their original compression. All of this happens in your browser's memory, so the document never leaves your device.

Key features of Organize PDF

Free, no page cap

Organise documents of any length with no page limit and no watermark. Rearrange, rotate and remove as many pages as you like, then save the result when it looks right.

Lossless page copying

Pages are copied exactly as they are, so the saved PDF looks identical to the original apart from the order and rotation you chose. Selectable text, vector graphics and image quality are all preserved.

Instant moves, quick saves

Thumbnails appear one by one as each page is drawn, and moving or rotating a page is instant because nothing is processed until you press Save PDF. Saving is quick even for long documents, since pages are copied rather than re-rendered.

Grid that fits any screen

The page grid shows two thumbnails across on a phone and up to six on a wide monitor. It works in Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox on Windows, macOS, Linux, iPhone, iPad and Android.

Every action has a button

You never have to drag. Each page has move left, move right, rotate, duplicate and delete buttons, labelled for screen readers with the page number and usable from the keyboard. Dark mode and browser zoom are supported.

Pages stay on your device

The PDF is opened, previewed and saved in your browser, and never sent to a server. Contracts, medical records and scanned ID documents can be tidied up without anyone else seeing them.

What makes EZ Compress's Organize PDF different

1

Drag or click, your choice

Drag a thumbnail onto another page to move it, or use the arrow buttons for precise one-step moves. On a touchscreen the arrows are the easier option, and they work just as well with a keyboard.

2

Whole-document shortcuts

Rotate all turns every page by 90 degrees at once, Reverse order fixes a stack scanned backwards in one click, and Reset puts every page back where it started if you change your mind.

3

Duplicate pages without a second file

Need a blank form twice or a divider page repeated? Duplicate places a copy right after the original page, with no need to merge the file with itself first.

4

Shows the original page number

Each thumbnail shows its new position, its original page number and any rotation you added, so you always know where a page came from before you save.

Why use Organize PDF?

An organize pdf pass is often the last step before a document goes out. Use it to rearrange pdf pages after scanning, put an appendix behind the main report or move a signature page to the end. Removing blank or duplicate sheets also makes the file shorter and easier to read.

It is also the quickest way to rotate pdf pages that a scanner or phone app saved sideways, and to delete pdf pages with details you do not want to share. Combine it with Merge PDF to assemble a bundle from several files, then reorder pdf pages here until the sequence is right. If you prefer the UK spelling, this is your organise pdf tool too.

Who can use Organize PDF?

Office staff

Fix batches of scanned letters and invoices that came out of the feeder in the wrong order or with pages upside down.

Legal teams

Arrange exhibits, move signature pages and remove blank separators from a document bundle while keeping every page's text searchable.

Teachers

Reorder worksheets, delete answer pages before sharing a file with students, and duplicate a template page for extra practice.

Homeowners

Tidy up a scanned mortgage pack, insurance policy or school form so the pages read in order and sit the right way up.

Job seekers

Put your cover letter before your CV and remove pages you do not want an employer to see from a combined application PDF.

Organize PDF: frequently asked questions

How do I organize PDF pages into a new order?
Drop the PDF and wait for the thumbnails, then drag a page onto the spot where it should go or use the left and right arrows under it. Press Save PDF to download the reordered document.
How do I rotate just one page?
Click the rotate button under that page. Each click turns it 90 degrees clockwise, and the angle is shown under the thumbnail. Use Rotate all at the top to turn every page at once, for example when a whole scan came out sideways.
Can I delete pages from a PDF?
Yes. Click the delete button under any page you want to remove. Your original file is not changed; the pages are simply left out of the new PDF when you save. Use Reset to bring every deleted page back.
Does organising a PDF reduce quality?
No. Pages are copied into the new file exactly as they are, so text stays sharp and selectable and images keep their original quality. Only the order and rotation change.
Can I organise a password-protected PDF?
Not while it is protected, because the pages cannot be read. Remove the password with Unlock PDF first, using the password you were given, then open the unlocked PDF here.
Can I add pages from another PDF?
Not in this tool. Combine the files with Merge PDF first, then open the merged document here to move, rotate and remove pages until the order is right.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. On iPhone or Android, use the arrow buttons rather than dragging, since drag-and-drop between thumbnails is designed for a mouse. Long PDFs take a while to draw every thumbnail on a phone, but you can start rearranging straight away.
Is there a page limit?
No fixed limit. A few hundred pages work fine on a laptop. Thumbnails are drawn one at a time, so a very large scan simply takes longer to preview.
Does it change the quality of my pages?
No. Pages are copied as they are, only their order and rotation change.
