Convert WEBP to PNG and keep transparency intact. Useful for logos, stickers and UI assets downloaded from the web that need to go into design tools or presentations.
What is WEBP to PNG?
Our webp to png converter changes WEBP images into PNG files while keeping transparency exactly as it was. It is the right choice for logos, icons, stickers, cut-out product shots and interface graphics you download from the web and then need to place in a design tool, slide deck or document.
PNG is lossless and supported by virtually every program, so the converted file can be edited, layered and re-saved without adding new artefacts. Batches are welcome, conversion happens in your browser, and your images are never sent to a server. PNG is also what most older software expects.
How to convert WEBP to PNG
- Drop your WEBP files.
- Click Convert.
- Download PNGs with transparency preserved.
How WEBP to PNG works
WEBP actually contains two different codecs. Lossy WEBP uses VP8 block prediction, much like a video frame, while lossless WEBP uses a separate engine with colour transforms, a colour cache and repeated-pattern matching. Either kind can carry an alpha channel, so a single file can hold a photo-quality image with soft, see-through edges.
PNG stores red, green, blue and alpha values for every pixel without loss. When you convert a lossless WEBP to PNG, the pixels come across identically. When the source is lossy WEBP, the PNG preserves the image exactly as decoded, so nothing gets worse, though detail already discarded by WEBP does not come back.
This tool decodes the WEBP with your browser's built-in decoder, keeps the full alpha channel on the canvas and writes a standard PNG. Semi-transparent edges, drop shadows and anti-aliased outlines are carried over rather than flattened onto a colour.
Key features of WEBP to PNG
Free, no file caps
Convert single stickers or folders of icons for free, without a watermark added to your graphics. Batch processing and ZIP download are included for everyone, not held back for a paid plan.
Alpha kept pixel-perfect
Every level of transparency survives, from fully clear backgrounds to soft shadows and anti-aliased edges. Dimensions are unchanged, and for lossless WEBP sources the PNG pixels match the original exactly.
Converts as you drop
WEBP decoding is built into your browser, so there is nothing extra to download and no server transfer to wait for. Small graphics convert almost instantly, and larger images take a second or two on most devices.
Runs in any modern browser
Works in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iPhone and iPad. Install it as an app from the browser menu if you convert web graphics often.
Friendly to every user
All controls are operable with the keyboard, labelled for assistive technology and announce progress to screen readers. The page supports dark mode, browser zoom and small screens, and never hurries you with time limits.
Artwork stays with you
Client logos, unreleased interface assets and paid stock graphics are processed locally and never sent to a server. You can confirm in the network tab that no image data leaves the page.
What makes EZ Compress's WEBP to PNG different
True transparency, not white
Some converters flatten WEBP to a white or black background on the way to PNG. This one keeps the alpha channel intact, so a logo stays a cut-out and drops onto any background cleanly.
No compression step added
The PNG is written losslessly from the decoded image. There is no hidden lossy pass, colour reduction or resizing, so what you place in your design is as good as the WEBP you started with.
Private by design
Because conversion happens on your device, there is no copy of your graphics on a remote server and no retention policy to worry about. That suits agency and brand work under NDA.
Why use WEBP to PNG?
Convert WEBP to PNG when transparency matters and the destination does not accept WEBP. Older versions of PowerPoint, Keynote, Word, some print-on-demand sites and cutting-machine software still expect PNG for logos and stickers, and a JPG would lose the clear background.
It is also the safest move before editing. A PNG can be opened, adjusted and saved many times without degrading, so design teams often convert WEBP images to PNG first and only produce compressed web versions once the artwork is final.
Who can use WEBP to PNG?
UI and web designers
Pull icons and illustrations from a live site as WEBP, convert them to PNG and drop them into a design file with transparency intact.
Presenters
Convert transparent logos saved from partner websites into PNGs that sit cleanly on coloured slide backgrounds in PowerPoint or Keynote.
Print-on-demand sellers
T-shirt and mug platforms usually ask for transparent PNG artwork. Convert WEBP designs first so the background does not print as a white box.
Crafters with cutting machines
Turn WEBP clip art into PNG for craft software that imports PNG but not WEBP, keeping the clear background around the design.
Sticker collectors
WhatsApp and Telegram stickers are often WEBP. Convert them to transparent PNGs for use in editors, collages or other messaging apps.
