Render an SVG into a crisp PNG at any resolution: a 32 px favicon or a 4096 px print asset from the same file. Transparency is kept, fonts and gradients are rendered by your browser's SVG engine.
What is SVG to PNG?
Our svg to png converter renders SVG vector files into crisp PNG images at exactly the size you need, from a 32-pixel icon to an 8192-pixel print asset. PNG is accepted by social networks, email clients, office apps and marketplaces that refuse SVG, and it keeps a transparent background.
Set the output width in pixels or pick a 1× to 4× scale factor, choose a transparent, white or black background, and convert one file or a batch. Rendering is done by your browser's own SVG engine, locally, with nothing sent to a server and no watermark.
How to convert SVG to PNG
- Drop SVG files.
- Set the width in pixels or a scale factor.
- Download PNGs.
How SVG to PNG works
An SVG is not a picture made of pixels. It is a text file describing shapes, paths, gradients and text as mathematical instructions, which is why it stays sharp at any size and is often tiny. A PNG is a raster image: a fixed grid of coloured pixels. Turning one into the other is called rasterising.
To rasterise, the browser reads the SVG's viewBox (its internal coordinate system), scales it to the width you request, and draws every shape onto a pixel grid with anti-aliasing so curves look smooth. Because the drawing happens at the final size, a 2048-pixel PNG from an SVG is genuinely sharp, unlike a small PNG stretched up.
For security, browsers render SVG files as self-contained images, so external fonts, linked images and scripts are not loaded. Text set in a web font may fall back to a system font. Converting text to outlines, or embedding fonts in the SVG, avoids that.
Key features of SVG to PNG
Free at any resolution
Render SVGs to PNG at any size up to 8192 pixels wide, free and with no watermark. There is no watermark on the output, and batches of icons download together as a ZIP.
Exact pixel widths
Type the width you need, such as 512, 1080 or 2400 pixels, and height follows the SVG's proportions. Or choose 1×, 2×, 3× or 4× to produce retina-ready sizes of the artwork's native dimensions.
Rendered instantly
Your browser's SVG engine draws the file directly, with nothing sent off for server rendering. Most icons and logos convert in a fraction of a second, even at large output sizes.
Works across devices
Use it in current Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iPhone and iPad. Handy when you need a PNG of a logo quickly and only have a phone.
Accessible settings
Width, scale and background controls work from the keyboard, are labelled for screen readers and announce progress. The page supports dark mode, browser zoom and small screens, with no time limits.
Design files stay local
SVG source files often contain unreleased logos and client branding. Here they are rendered inside your browser and never sent to our servers, which you can check in the network tab. Nothing is stored afterwards.
What makes EZ Compress's SVG to PNG different
Width or scale factor
Many converters only output the SVG's default size. Here you set an exact pixel width or a 1× to 4× multiplier, so one file gives you favicons, retina icons and print assets.
Transparent by default
The background stays transparent unless you choose white or black. That suits logos on coloured pages, while the solid options suit platforms that show transparency as black. You pick per batch.
Batch rendering
Drop a whole icon set and convert every SVG at the same width in one pass, then download a single ZIP instead of exporting each icon by hand from a design app.
Why use SVG to PNG?
Convert SVG to PNG wherever vectors are not accepted. Most social networks, email signatures, app store listings, marketplace uploads, Word and many CMS media libraries need a raster image. A PNG rendered at the right size looks sharp and keeps transparency.
It is also how you produce several sizes from one master logo: a 180-pixel touch icon, a 1200-pixel social preview and a 4000-pixel print file. Use this SVG converter to export each one at the exact width needed, without opening a design program.
Who can use SVG to PNG?
Web developers
Render SVG icons to PNG at 1×, 2× and 3× for older components, email templates and app manifests that need raster files.
Social media managers
Turn an SVG logo into a sharp, correctly sized PNG for profile pictures, posts and banners, since platforms do not accept SVG uploads.
Small business owners
Get usable PNG versions of the SVG logo a designer delivered, for invoices, email signatures and printed flyers. No design software is needed.
App developers
Export launcher and store icons at the exact pixel sizes each platform requires from one SVG source file. Batch them all in one go.
Presenters and teachers
Convert SVG diagrams and icons into PNGs that insert cleanly into PowerPoint, Google Slides and printed worksheets. Edges stay crisp on projectors.
Settings explained
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Output width (px) | Width in pixels. Height is calculated to keep the aspect ratio unless set. |
| Or scale factor | Multiply the SVG's intrinsic size instead of setting a width. |
| Background | Colour used where the source had transparency, since this output format cannot store it. |
