How PDF Editor works
Most PDFs are not documents in the word processor sense. Each page is a fixed drawing made of text fragments placed at exact coordinates, with no paragraphs that can reflow. This editor works that way. Your text is written into the page as real PDF text in Helvetica, at the size and colour you chose, so it stays selectable. Images and signatures in PNG, JPG or WebP are embedded at the position and size you set. Highlights are semi-transparent coloured rectangles and white-out is an opaque white rectangle. Rotated pages are handled, so additions land the right way up.
One honest caveat: white-out hides content visually, but the original text underneath is still in the file and could be copied out with the right software. For truly sensitive details, use proper redaction. The PDF is edited with pdf-lib in your browser and is never sent to a server.
